Circa announces three new books on the erotic work of photographer Alejandra Guerrero
Many people will have discovered Alejandra Guerrero’s work in 2012, when she was one of 50 international photographers featured in Taschen’s The New Erotic Photography 2. But she first revealed erotic themes in her photography as far back as 2003, when as part of a Chicago artists’ organisation called Fluxcore, her work was included in a show about sex and technology called Turn On. Guerrero’s rarefied visual art marks a turning point for female sexuality in erotica, her eloquent tableaux revealing the ways in which strong, intelligent women exert their erotic power. She is undoubtedly one of the most original and provocative photographers working today. Circa is thrilled to be collaborating with her on a series of publications, each highlighting a different erotic theme. The first of these, Wicked Women, is planned for release this spring, followed over the next two years by Auto Erotica and Voyeur. Cumulatively, they represent an extraordinarily seductive body of work.
