Belgian model-turned-photographer, Ifa Brand, and Danish photographic artists, Vestholm, will be exhibited together at The Stash Gallery. Both are celebrating the publication of monographs by Circa. Ifa Brand’s, Boudoir, was released late last year, and Vestholm make their publishing debut in June with Secrets. Ifa Brand’s work is a quest for personal empowerment through the art of self- portraiture: ‘I find it important to present a strong, independent woman. There needs to be an element of being untouchable. The message to the viewer is, yes, you can look but solely on my terms.’ The work of Tue Holmgaard and Marianne Vesterled, the Danish photographic artists known as Vestholm, meshes their individual create obsessions to form a compelling visual language about fantasy and the transgressive. This is the first time that the work of either photographer has been exhibited in the UK.
